The Coming Storm

The long-range forecast is foreboding. Not the weather forecast, but the election forecast. The polls show Biden winning, even in most swing states, but the election is still a little under 50 days away and anything could happen. Anything disastrous and unprecedented that is. Trump is like a cornered rabid animal who will stop at nothing to win. He has to win to ensure that he, his family members, and his enablers will not end up in prison. He will risk your life, my life, and the lives of countless other Americans to achieve his victory.

His campaign has apparently run out of money and has been forced to remove television advertising from crucial states. He knows that he has a slim chance of winning in an honest and fair election. He needs Putin and Russia now, more than ever. He also needs his fixer, Bill Barr, to attack and discredit his opponents and to prevent a fair vote. His Postmaster General toadie has already started to cripple the postal service to hinder mail-in voting. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There is going to be a subversion and a perversion of the legal system to support Trump’s re-election. There are going to be all kinds of attempts to block Black people from voting, especially in the South. The closer we get to November 3rd the more attacks on our elections and legal system will be realized. You can bet your bottom dollar that Bill Barr and Trump’s Justice Department have already formulated the “October Surprise” to favor Trump. Whether it is a fake Covid-19 vaccine or a fake investigation of Obama for a “Trumped-up” imaginary charge, rest assured it’s coming. We should also be prepared for violence erupting in our major cities, especially those run by Democratic mayors. We all know how Trump loves to foment chaos.

Most of us look forward to November 3rd as the day of deliverance from the evils of the Trump crime syndicate, but most likely we will be far from delivered from the hate and cruelty of Donald Trump and his cult of supporters. Election day is going to be just the beginning. Hopefully, it won’t be the beginning of the end.

If Biden wins, even by a landslide, Trump will not give up. And his supporters won’t give up. Even with the knowledge that Trump has trashed and dishonored our veterans and war dead and the tapes of Trump admitting he purposely downplayed the seriousness of Covid-19, his followers are still firmly behind him. They refuse to believe anything negative about their Fuhrer. These people only watch Fox News and are totally unfamiliar with the truth, or anything resembling it.

Trump, knowing that his defeat may be inevitable, has begun floating the idea that the election results will be fake and signaled his refusal to accept the results. Many political veterans believe that Trump may refuse to leave the Oval Office on January 20. Trump has often stated that he “deserves” a second and even a third term. He has stated, “that the only way he will lose the election is if it is rigged”. He is preparing his lemmings for his defeat. He has also encouraged people to vote twice, only because he then can call the election invalid.

Roger Stone, convicted felon and Trump friend, and supporter whose sentence was commuted, recently called for Trump to declare martial law if he loses and to arrest Mark Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, and the Clintons. Trump’s assistant secretary of Health and Human Services has warned of “an armed revolt” if Trump loses. As the Daily Mail has reported, “Donald Trump says he will put down ‘INSURRECTION’ if he is declared the winner and there are riots on election night”.

While a majority of the country may be hoping and planning on celebrating a Biden victory, small, albeit violent extremist elements of Trump supporters are planning on bloodshed. Who will be the targets? Everyone they perceive to be Trump’s enemies. In other words, anyone not a white supremacist.

Trump will not think twice about destroying the Constitution, the Country, and the lives of Americans to remain in power. Be prepared for horror yet to come.

It is What It Is!

Over 156,000 Americans have died from COVID-19 since March and over 1,000 people are dying each day from the Trump virus. And Donald Trump calls this fake news.  Is it fake news for those families who have buried their fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, grandparents, brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, and grandparents, without being able to say good-bye?  

Trump mocks those medical professionals who are trying to save American lives while touting ineffective treatments and conspiracy theories.  His supporters refuse to social distance and to wear masks to protect themselves and their fellow Americans from the virus.  One of his staunchest supporters who also refused to wear a mask and called the pandemic a hoax, Herman Cain, recently died for his ignorance and loyalty to Trump. Did Trump care? No.

Now Trump is pushing America's children to sacrifice their lives for him and return to school, while his own son's private school will continue online learning. In a few weeks, teachers and children will suffer and die because of Trump's ignorance, arrogance, and refusal to accept his failures. Does he care?  No.

When asked in an Axios interview about the numbers of people who have died and who are dying every day, he responds: "it is what it is".  You can watch the full interview here.

Knew He Was a Disaster, But you enabled him anyway

Like most people in this country, I’m aware of Covid-19 and have been following the government’s reaction to it. Unlike many people, I have not panicked or started hoarding toilet paper. Sometimes though I think I should start to panic and prepare for the worst.

I am a member of the high-risk population as I am 72 and suffer from both asthma and COPD. I cannot help but remember how much I suffered from the flu almost one year ago today. I was hospitalized then and I thought that was going to be the end. I fear that if I get the coronavirus I will not survive. With those thoughts still fresh in my mind I admit that I have a healthy fear of this pandemic. But it’s more than fear. My fear is accompanied by shame and downright anger!

The world has known about this virus since December, but because of the coverup of the Chinese Communist government, nothing was done, until the virus had taken hold in the population. The United States was aware of Covid-19 and how dangerous it had become in mid-January but did nothing. Our government had its own coverup. The stable genius in the White House dismantled the team of experts whose task it was to address epidemics such as this one, solely because of his jealousy and hatred of President Obama.

As the virus spread to Europe and Asia, China moved into high gear to address the epidemic. When South Korea was hit hard by the virus they acted quickly to test those exposed to the virus and protect their citizens. South Korea and Germany developed their own Covid-19 tests and offered them to the United States, but our CDC arrogantly refused them and instead chose to develop or own tests. This action put the United States way behind the rest of the world in dealing with the virus. The United States, which once was at the forefront of worldwide disease prevention and control was now lagging behind third world countries, all because of a childish, narcissistic moron who is incapable of carrying out the duties of his office. What a frigging shame!

As the virus was introduced into our country, instead of meeting the public health threat head-on, Trump and his ignorant sycophants, led by FOX news called the virus a hoax manufactured by the Democrats to hurt Trump. Time and time again Trump downplayed the dangers of the virus, worrying more about how the stock market losses would affect his businesses and his reelection chances, over the health of the American people. Every statement he made in January and February and even now in regards to the virus and its danger to the American people has been a lie. And still, The Republicans do nothing except bury their heads in the sand.

As Italy has literally shut down in hopes of containing the virus in the face of increasing numbers of cases and deaths, Trump has done nothing, but brag about how “perfect” his response to the virus has been. South Korea has managed to test approximately 210,000 people since testing began while the United States has managed to test a little over 8,000 people. South Korea is showing what a competent reaction to the health crisis should be, while the President of the United States is golfing and blaming others for his incompetence.

As the Republicans continued to call Covid-19 a hoax and downplay its dangers to the American public, members of Congress have themselves been exposed to the virus while attending CPAC, a mecca for conservatives. While the average American cannot receive a Covid-19 test, because of the unavailability of tests, these special friends of Trump have easily and quickly been tested. It is now known that Trump, himself, has had exposure to the virus from his contact with these people, as well as from his meeting with a representative of the Brazilian government. As of this writing, Trump has not been tested and refuses to be tested. I guess the captain wants to go down with the ship.

My anger and hopelessness came to a head with Trump’s address to the nation last night regarding his plan to manage the virus. His plan includes giving the virus a nationality. It is now officially a “foreign virus”. He also formulated a travel ban, barring people from flying into the US from Europe, except for the UK and Ireland. The asshole doesn’t realize that people can fly from anywhere in Europe to the UK or Ireland then fly to the US! It is also interesting that the two countries excluded from this ban are those countries housing Trump’s failing golf resorts! Any question where his sympathies lie?

His speech to the nation did not address testing at all. There was no acknowledgment of the shortage of tests and if and when mass testing will become available. He did say that his administration is working on a plan to deal with the financial implications of the pandemic, but no mention of anything concrete. His statements regarding an economic stimulus plan were directed towards business and shoring up the stock market, instead of assisting those families having to deal with the illness and the hardships suffered by the uninsured or underinsured, those without sick leave, those without childcare and those living from paycheck to paycheck. In other words, he showed no concern for the health and welfare of the average American.

Since his speech, it has become apparent that this country is in serious trouble and people like me are in very serious trouble. From time to time during the average day, my breathing becomes difficult. I dealt with it as always, but now I can’t help but think “is this it?”. Could this be the beginning of the end? Even though I live in a county with only one positive case of coronavirus, so far, I can’t help but be concerned. I know there are many people in my situation and there are many more in extremely serious conditions throughout the country. I know there are scientists, doctors, technicians and healthcare workers working 24/7 to bring this pandemic under control. At the same time though I see Trump put my fate and the fate of our citizenry in the hands of Jared Kushner, who has absolutely no qualifications to do anything. It’s now up to Kushner to decide whether or not a public health state of emergency should be declared!

As I listen to the reports that the NBA and MLB have canceled or delayed their seasons, and colleges and universities have closed campuses and initiated online classes I can see the lives of Americans changing. I know my life will begin to change, as the virus will become more prevalent and hits closer to my community. At the same time, I see these changes I see that the Republicans are not changing. I see that the Democratic House of Representatives has unveiled a plan to help workers cope with the financial effects of not being able to work due to being infected by the virus. The plan includes paid sick leave for those who have none. I also see that the Republicans are vehemently opposed to the plan. Nothing here has changed.

There have been many comments made regarding politicizing the coronavirus threat, mostly from Trump supporters, but that’s a lot of bullshit. When it comes to my life and the lives of my family and my friends I am going to place the majority of the blame for the coronavirus threat not being handled competently and in a timely fashion squarely where it belongs. On Donald J. Trump and the Republican party! As Trump’s presidency rolled out we all could see how much of a racist he was. We all could see how corrupt he was. We all could see how vindictive and narcissistic he was. We could all see how incompetent he was. We also could see how much of a liar he was. We all knew, deep down, that Trump would destroy our country, one way or the other.

We had one chance to stop this destruction, with his impeachment and removal from office. But Republicans failed their party, their oaths of office and their country. They were terrified to vote against him for fear of being the targets of his vile vindictive retaliatory tweets. Or they were willing participants in his rape of the American taxpayer, or they too were beholding to Putin. The GOP is remarkably standing with him in the face of disaster. Before this pandemic is over there will be economic pandemonium and worse, many lives lost. If nothing is done the GOP will forever bear the responsibility of this apocalypse.

It’s time for Congress to get rid of Trump. Utilize the 25th Amendment or impeach him as soon as possible before he can cause more damage and more deaths. We can’t afford to wait for the election. We need a credible and competent government now!

What is the Purpose of Trump’s Rallies?

It seems like I have always been interested in politics ever since I was a teenager and joined the thousands of people my age who were swept up in the energy of John F. Kennedy’s campaign for President. Watching his rallies and campaign speeches I first became aware of the need to help the poor, the disadvantaged and those of color, as well as all minorities. Throughout numerous political campaigns I reveled at speeches by Democrats and Republican alike promising to bring Americans together, to help the poor and homeless, the unemployed and the middle class. The only disparaging words were directed towards our enemies which at the time included Communism, Fascism, poverty, drugs and crime. After the the presidential election the rallies came to an end and the rhetoric turned to uniting Americans and putting forth policies and programs to serve the economic and social well being of the American people. Those who voted both for and against the elected president were treated equally, for the most part. The opposition party was mentioned in terms of probably not being able to serve the country as well as the party in power, but never vilified. Republicans and Democrats were actually friends, who just happened to disagree upon how best to create and maintain policies to best benefit the country. Whenever the president made a public appearance it was to tout the benefits of his party’s agenda. As thoughts turned to the re-election of the president, in the latter part of his term, the presidential assemblies turned into campaign rallies where the president boasted of his perceived accomplishments, often stretching the truth, but rarely blatantly lying.

How things have changed! The presidential election of 2016 was probably the most vicious and disgusting campaign I have ever witnessed, thanks to Donald Trump. He didn’t rail against the old enemies, Communism, poverty etc. He railed against his own invented personal enemies! The Press, immigrants, Muslims, women, the educated and especially Barack Obama were all the “Enemy”! He constantly spewed forth a tirade of hateful insults directed at his opponent Hillary Clinton and Obama along with derogatory denunciations of the press, except for Fox News, which eventually became the propaganda arm of his campaign and later his administration. He attacked and belittled his political opponents throughout his entire campaign to win the Republican nomination. For the first time in my memory I heard a candidate for the esteemed office of the President of the United States refer to his opponents with names any third grader would use to bully his classmates. Names such as Lying Ted, Crooked Hillary and Little Marco, which belong on an elementary school playground, came into common usage by this presidential candidate. At his lowest point he even mocked a physically handicapped reporter and derided the mother of a Gold Star Mother, solely because she was a Muslim! He has also attacked women and mocked them because of their physical appearance.

As a result of his campaign rallies our fellow Americans and immigrants of Mexican descent became rapists, drug dealers and criminals. Our Muslim neighbors all became terrorists. He attacked John McCain, one of America’s most beloved war heroes because he was captured by the Vietcong. This was from a 5 time draft dodger, don’t forget! Now that Trump is president his hateful and divisive rhetoric has not diminished, on the contrary it has intensified. He has not attempted to unify the country, but to further divide it along racial, political and religious lines. He has doubled down on the press and has even incited violence against them, except for Fox News that is. Five people were killed in a newspaper office in Maryland and Trump hesitated to mention or condemn the killings until a national outrage forced him begrudgingly to address the situation. After the Charlottesville, Va. white nationalist rally, where a counter-protester was intentionally run over and killed by a white nationalist and 13 other people were injured in the violent protests, Trump refused to condemn the violence, instead he offered tacit support for Neo-Nazis. Addressing his supporters he has praised Vladimir Putin as a strong leader as well as supporting Philippine dictator Duterte. By meeting with North Korean strongman Kim Jong-un he has legitimized the tyrant and he even praised him as being much loved by his countrymen during some his rallies.

As the investigation into the Trump-Russia collusion heats up and some of Trump’s closest campaign advisors have either been indicted or pled guilty and the investigation is getting closer to Trump and his family, Trump is moving closer to his base of supporters. He knows that his base will support him no matter what. He once said “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose any voters” and he truly believes it. Whenever things get hot with Mueller, Trump turns to rallies with his cult like base. He knows he can say anything he wants to his supporters, even racially charged speeches in which he can denigrate people of color, especially Black athletes, journalists and entertainers. He ridicules and blames immigrants for the imagined sufferings of his supporters and attacks our allies in order to fire up his supporters. He promises to bring back jobs that will never return. He promises to return their country to a time basically when white people were in charge and women and Black people knew their places. His continued attack on the press has resulted in TV networks having to provide their journalists with security to prevent possible physical attacks, as Trump gleefully incites his supporters to chant vile hateful chants directed at the press. Despite his attacks on the media the press continues to cover his rallies,even though they produce no news, only pure unadulterated hate. There is no reason to cover these rallies other than to aid Trump in the dissemination of racist propaganda. He does not promise his base a better life, instead he seeks their help in destroying his enemies, anyone who disagrees with him, criticizes him or stands in the way of his taking authoritarian control of the country.

Now to the purpose of Trump’s rallies. When he is among his racist and bigoted followers Trump feels safe engulfed in their admiration of the man who makes their expressions of hate not only possible but normal. For years these people have been hiding in the shadows and now they can come to the forefront. Trump knows this and he is using their fervor to hold onto his position of power and to help him exact his revenge on Obama. He is using the same tactics as his idols, Putin, Duterte, Erdogan, Kim Jong-un and the most notorious madman in history, Adolf Hitler. One may say that it is not fair comparing Trump to Hitler, but it cannot be denied that Trump is using his rallies in the same way Hitler fired up his supporters. Hitler’s enemies, as well as Trump’s enemies are the press. Hitler demonized Jews, the educated elite and minorities. Trump has replaced the hatred of Jews with his hatred of Muslims and Mexicans. His rallies offer no hope for a better life for anyone, but Trump himself and his family. If we Americans don’t wake up and see the similarities between Trump and any authoritarian regime, we will find ourselves living under that regime.

The Republicans Need Help in 2018!

    A lot of my friends are very confused and perplexed at why the Republicans in Congress simply sit back and let Trump destroy our democracy.  It is now a forgone conclusion that
Russia meddled in our 2016 elections, which most likely allowed Trump to become President.  Yet knowing this the Republicans are hampering and even attempting to block Special Prosecutor Mueller's investigation into Russia's involvement and the part the Trump administration may have played in these treasonous acts.  The media, except for the propaganda wing of the GOP, FOX News, have been scratching their heads trying to figure out why the GOP are doing everything in their power to discredit the investigation, the FBI, the Justice Department and the CIA.  Worse yet with the knowledge that Russia will definitely try to meddle in the upcoming 2018 elections, the Republicans have done nothing to rectify the situation.

   All the political pundits are stymied as to why the GOP are trying to stop the investigation, except for a very few who think that they are trying to hide Trump's guilt. But in my opinion the answer is quite obvious and simple.  The Republicans know they are going to lose big time in 2018 and they need and want Russia's help in maintaining their majority!

Drain the Swamp?

    One of the sayings from Trump's campaign that ihs ignorant supporters were thrilled about and still reach orgasm over when hearing it is "Drain the Swamp".  He criticized Hillary Clinton for giving "paid" speeches to Goldman Sachs, but turned around and named a senior executive of Goldman Sachs as Secretary of the Treasury. He named the CEO of Exxon to be the Secretary of State.  Trump's cabinet members have a net worth of over $13 billion!  He has named Betsy Devos as Secretary of Education, even though she is totally unqualified and detests the public school system, favoring "Christian schools"!  He has named a well know bigot and racist to be Attorney General. He has named many people who have absolutely no qualifications or experience, other than wanting to destroy the very departments they head. All of his cabinet members want to destroy the government regulations on the environment and business, that prevent them from making as much money as they possibly can!

    It is funny that the poor fools that supported and voted for Trump will be the ones who will suffer the most under Trump's billionaire cabinet. Unfortunately they are not smart enough now to realize that, as their environment and health are being attacked and they lose their healthcare!  Indeed Trump has drained the swamp, but created a cesspool!

How to Make Money From People's Suffering

    Hurricane Harvey is the fist natural disaster to occur during the Trump administration and the first real test of his leadership capability.  Well he failed that test miserably!  He went to Texas, but he didn't go anywhere near the devastation.  He didn't get wet or dirty. Melania even wore a pair of stilettos, which I am sure the poor victims of the hurricane could never be able to afford, even if they wanted to look so slutty!  Trump was criticized for not putting his around a victim of the hurricane and hugging him/her showing that he cared. How could he?  He didn't even go near any of the victims!  He didn't even mention the victims or first responders!  He didn't see any of the destruction!

    What did he do? He talked about himself!  He talked about pardoning the great American patriot, bigot and racist, Sheriff Arpaio! He talked about his rally in Missouri and how he won that state in the election! And he wore that white baseball hat everywhere!  It just happens that the hat can be purchased on his website!  By the way they're not made in America, but in China!  So much for his bringing jobs back to the US!

    Trump failed as a leader. He showed absolutely no empathy or concern for the victims and their families nor for the first responders risking their lives to save others.  He did not see the Texans, of all religions, all ethnicities and all gender identification, the very people he is trying to destroy, helping each other in this time of tragedy. He only say a chance to make a profit on the backs of all those suffering! He failed as a president, a leader and a human being!

As of January 20, 2017, once Democratic America has officially become an authoritarian Aristocracy! Stoking fears of immigrants, Muslims, the LGBT community, foreigners and anyone who is different from a white, male Christian, Donald Trump rode a train of fear, racism and bigotry to the White House. Many people who felt disenfranchised especially economically, fell hook, line and sinker for his divisive rhetoric and promises of an improved life. These people were not swayed by his constant lying, his sexual assaults on women, his mockery of handicapped people and his outright hatred of Muslims, Hispanics, Blacks and other minorities. They didn't bother to investigate him further, choosing to listen to the propaganda of fake news as espoused by Fox News, Breibart and other such far right entities.  They didn't care! They thought he would bring them to riches, as he had done for himself, by inheriting wealth and screwing anyone who worked for him. They were too stupid to know better!

  In his inauguration speech, instead of trying to bring the country together he continued to divide the country and even offered to retaliate against those who voted against him. In his constant delusional state of mind, he insisted that his inauguration crowd was the largest in American history, even though tons of video, photographic and DC transportation department evidence disproves his blatant lies. Every day since his crowning as king, he has not let up on these lies. He now refuses to believe what is a proven fact, that he lost the popular vote "bigly".  He believes 3 million illegal immigrants fraudulently voted in the election!

For all those poor suckers who voted for him with expectations of an improved economic life let's look at what he has done so far.  First, he is a billionaire (supposedly) and he still refuses to release his income taxes, continuing to lie about them being audited. His mouthpiece Kellyanne Conway has told us that he will never release his taxes, even though he made numerous promises to do so during the campaign. Now the morons who voted for him still do have to pay taxes, while their hero most likely hasn't paid taxes in a decade.  Secondly his nominations for his cabinet are all at least millionaires, if not billionaires, with absolutely no experience whatsoever, except for the millions they donated to his campaign! Some nominees have even said they wish to dismantle the very agencies they were nominated to lead, while others have ties with big oil and would be positioned to benefit from their leadership.  According to The Hill.com,"The amount of wealth possessed by the 17 picks, at least $9.5 billion, is greater than the 43 million least wealthy households in America."!  What makes the Trumpsters think they're going to be any better off under a bunch of millionaires and billionaires who got rich by taking advantage of people like them?  It's like putting a pedophile in charge of the kindergarten or an alcoholic in charge of a bar!

In  his short few days as president he has continued throwing tantrums about the popular vote, his inauguration crowds and the press, but he has accomplished a few things. He has endangered our environment and our health by putting gag orders on the EPA, the National Park Service and the FDA, to name a few. He is attempting to stifle the Freedom of the Press and he has ordered the building of the ridiculous wall. Oh, yeah, Trumpsters, he's taking away your health insurance to see how fast you guys can die off.  Some of his supporters see his reinstatement of the building of the Dakota pipeline and deregulation of some industries as providing jobs. This is true, for the time being, as there will only be temporary jobs created. But that won't really make a difference to the Trump supporters because they will all be gravely ill or dead, along with the rest of us, because of his destroying healthcare, the environment and the FDA, so that his buddies can reap record profits!

As Marie Antoinette once said, "Let them eat cake"!

I haven't been posting anything lately about the campaigns for the Democratic and Republican nominations for the 2016 presidential elections, mainly because I am so disgusted with American politics today. I am shocked and embarrassed by the degenerate nature of the GOP candidates and their debates. They have denigrated the office of the President as well as the current sitting president. Their vulgarity and potty mouth language is unacceptable in any civilized society and is a total embarrassment to the GOP and the entire country. For a party that touts their "family values" this behavior should not be witnessed by families with children or any civilized adult.

It's no surprise that there are large number of racists and bigots in this country hiding just beneath the surface, but their voices have been subdued by those educated individuals possessing more common sense and higher moral standards.  Unfortunately, the voices of hate have found a leader in Donald Trump, who has allowed them to come out of the muck and mire and join his political movement. He has given the racists and bigots of this country a platform to espouse their hate. A student of history cannot watch his rallies, replete with a majority of uneducated low life and foul mouthed supporters, without looking back and seeing throngs of Hitler supporters giving the Nazi salute in response to their leaders loud vitriol!  During Hitler's time the targets were Jews, but his time around the targets are Hispanics, Blacks, gays, immigrants and religious minorities. In other words anyone who is different.

The other candidates of the Republican party are not much better. They all are doing their best to demonize anyone who is not white, heterosexual, male, rich or Christian. It is sickening to see all of the candidates pander to the so called "evangelicals". Evangelicals are just a religious sounding name to describe racists, bigots and hate mongers.  They are by no means Christian, as proven by their strong support of Trump, who is as far from being a Christian, with his actions and lifestyle.

I have lost all respect for the Republican party because of their choices of candidates. In each of their candidates I can only see people who want to take my rights away and force their archaic religious views down the throats of me and all Americans.
